The Centre for Public Scrutiny (CfPS) promotes the value of scrutiny and accountability in effective government and supports non-executives in their scrutiny role.

The challenge was to make quite ‘dry’ reports look interesting, but not expensive. After Melanie designed her first report, CfPS realised they needed guidelines for their identity, which they wished to retain, as its implementation was erratic and undisciplined. New guidelines on usage were developed and all publications since have been more uniform and recognisably from the CfPS.

In addition to designing many of CfPS's current reports, Melanie has themed CfPS's annual conference which included display boards and certificates for their scrutiny awards scheme
